Blake Medical Center came to me needing a complete re-brand. Their previous branding had become stale and they were losing market share to other hospitals and medical providers in the area.
The CEO wanted something that conveyed cutting-edge, as well as their location near local beaches on the west side of Bradenton, Florida. The logo also had to be customizable for each of their specialty services and dozens of in-network providers.
We went through literally hundreds of potential marks before we settled on the final design. I took my inspiration from the light beam of a laser in combination with the compass on a nautical map. Executives were thrilled with the contemporary and cutting-edge design and the re-branding led to a spike in hospital admissions as well as double-digit improvements in hospital awareness within the community.

The Byrd Alzheimer's Institute is one of the world's leading facilities for the research, care and treatment of Alzheimer's Disease. The Institute needed an identity that conveyed its status as a pioneer in Alzheimer's research but also reflected a calming, steady and reassuring atmosphere for the patients and caregivers that rely on the Institute for treatment and care.
After exhaustive research and multiple focus groups, I designed an identity that focused on the "B" from their name as an abstract bird (a not so-subtle reference to their name) in flight to show the resounding spirit of the Alzheimer's researches and patients, committed to soar and thrive in the face of incredible adversity.
